After completing degrees in Law and Art History, Alexis Bordes trained for several years at the Hôtel Drouot auction house with various auctioneers before opening his first gallery in 1996 near the Hôtel Drouot.
The gallery specializes in the French School from the 17th to the late 19th century and presents works on paper as well as paintings and sculptures.
A public sale expert working with auctioneers, Alexis Bordes also serves as an advisor to many European and international collectors.
The gallery has contributed to enriching the collections of numerous museums and institutions, including the Château de Versailles, the Louvre Museum, the Getty Museum, and the Houston Museum of Fine Arts, among others.
Located on Rue de la Paix for over 10 years, the gallery organizes several thematic exhibitions each year, accompanied by the publication of extensively researched catalogs.
For many years, Alexis Bordes has been working on the development of a catalogue raisonné on the works of portraitist Henri François Riesener, in collaboration with Mr. Philippe Nusbaumer.
